Coordinator - Performance Nutrition
The Coordinator – Performance Nutrition provides individual and team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club athletes. Managing all food service, catering, and nutritional recommendations at minor league affiliates in partnership with Strength and Conditioning Department. Residence in Phoenix, AZ metro area is required.

· Individual and Staff Nutrition Counseling
o Develops and implements a comprehensive nutrition program designed to optimize on-field performance and recovery.
o Collaborate with Player Development, Strength & Conditioning, Performance Science and Player Health leadership in the creation and delivery of individual player plans.
o Manages budget, purchasing, and evaluation of nutritional supplements, including herbal supplements, for legality, safety, quality, and efficacy, monitors use of appropriate supplementation in partnership with Strength and Conditioning staff.
o Serves as a nutrition resource for coaches, trainers, food service personnel, and staff across Major and Minor League Levels.
o Assesses and analyzes dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance of athletes.
o Advises athletes on optimal nutrition for exercise training and achieving and maintaining a level of body mass, body fat, and muscle mass that is consistent with good health and good performance.
o Provides medical nutrition therapy, as needed, to help manage or treat medical conditions.
o Advises athletes on optimal nutrition for recovery from illness or injury.
o Provides individual nutrition counseling for Major and Minor League Players, as needed.
o Develops and delivers nutrition education presentations, demonstrations, or events
· Food Service and Menu Development
o Manages the daily responsibilities of Executive Chef, Sous Chef and additional kitchen/nutrition staff at American Family Fields of Phoenix.
o Coordinates nutrition for domestic and/or international travel.
o Develops and delivers nutrition education for food service personnel.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Registered Dietician (RD).
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nutrition counseling, preferably with emphasis on sports nutrition. 1-3 years' related experience in food services as a cook in a hotel/catering/restaurant environment a plus.
- Outstanding track record in leadership of people; ability to develop and motivate a team, while maintaining a positive, diverse, creative, and high-performance culture. Readily accepts feedback from others and provides vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates. Displays enthusiasm, passion, and optimism.
Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in nutrition counseling in professional baseball
· Ability to analyze body composition, bone mineral density through lab technologies (Inbody, DXA, BOD POD)
· Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
Education and/or Experience
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, or related area, granted from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.
· Master’s degree in nutrition or exercise physiology preferred. Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association.
