Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage nutrition consultations for Low A and FCL, ensuring tailored guidance and support; maintain a consistent presence at a minimum of three games per homestand for Low A and two games per week for FCL.
- Contribute expert insights during rehab morning meetings twice weekly, driving effective nutrition strategies for recovery and return to play.
- Oversee comprehensive rehab nutrition management for Low A, High A, FCL, as well as players transitioning from the Dominican Republic to the U.S.
- Collaborate with coaching staff and performance teams to design and implement impactful nutrition education initiatives for players.
- Coordinate closely with the Dominican Republic Academy dietitian to ensure a seamless transition for players moving to the U.S.
- Conduct weekly hydration assessments, monthly body fat percentage assessments, and monitor weekly body weight for FCL and Low A athletes to track performance indicators.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of cafeteria services along with the minor league coordinator and operations team, ensuring meals are aligned with nutritional goals and performance needs.
- Partner with catering manager to coordinate Low A meal planning that meets dietary requirements.
- Manage supplement procurement and logistics, including packing for road games for the Low A and FCL teams.
- Supervise clinical supplementation protocols for rehabilitation programs across FCL & Low A.
- Provide key support for major events in Lakeland.
- Restocking and organizing nutrition areas as needed on a daily basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Registered Dietitian Certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, food sciences, sports nutrition, or related field required.
- 2 years or more prior work experience in professional baseball, collegiate baseball or similar industry
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Spanish speaking is highly preferred
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication, presentation, and counseling skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications – Word, Excel, Canva
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to relocate to Lakeland, FL.
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member.
- Ability to measure height, weight, and assess body composition.
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, ergogenic aids, nutritional/herbal supplements.
- Familiarity with food service quality and safety practices.
- Ability to pass background check and drug test.
- Ability to work a non-standard work week.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor and office environment.
- Non-traditional work schedule. Evening, weekend and holiday hours will be required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
Location / Time Commitment:
- Seasonal, April 1st, 2025 through September 30th, 2025.
- Ability to work a non-standard work week
- No travel required to away games
- Possibility of traveling to other locations for Spring Training/orientation.
