Title: Performance Nutrition Fellow (Football)

Position Type: Part-Time/Temporary Staff

Potential Start Date: June 2025

Potential End Date: May 2026

This is a 1-year position with the potential of extending a year (dependent on completion of year 1)


Description: The FSU Fellowship Program is intended for new dietitians interested in collegiate sport/performance nutrition who want to gain experience and mentorship from both the Director and Assistant Dietitian of FSU’s Performance Nutrition Team. Fellows will work directly with the teams assigned in collaboration with the support staff and coaching staff. Fellows will also have other administrative duties as assigned while serving as an integral part of FSU’s Athletics Department. At FSU we are fortunate to have a well-developed undergraduate volunteer program and sports nutrition master’s/Dietetic Internship program. This allows our Performance Nutrition Team to focus on tangible work-related responsibilities that support the enhanced performance of our student-athletes. 


Minimum Requirements

- Bachelors of Science in Nutrition or health related field

- Registered Dietitian (or RD eligible within 3 months of employment)

 

Skills Required:

- Stay current on evidenced based research

- Body composition testing (DEXA)

- Proficient in Excel & other databases for educational and statistical analysis

- Ability to work as a team (within the performance nutrition team as well as all other interdisciplinary teams and coaches)

- Receptive to feedback/ constructive criticism 

- Adaptable

- Growth mindset, be ready to learn and grow as a sports dietitian

- Excellent presentation/communication skills. Be able to take scientific research and communicate information to student-athletes efficiently and effectively 

- Work ethic, reliability, punctuality 

- Understanding of confidentiality/ privacy 

- Adherence to ACC and NCAA regulations as well as FSU Policies and Procedures 

- Social media, content production, and design
