JOB SUMMARY:
The Executive Chef will provide culinary leadership, including menu planning, program execution, and staff management & training for the St. Louis Cardinals Major League baseball team. They will work alongside KitchFix leadership to deliver best-in-class food and service. In addition, they will operate in tandem with dieticians to meet the team’s performance nutrition expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the food preparation for all St. Louis Cardinals home games at Busch Stadium including all exhibition, regular season, and postseason games
Collaborate with the performance team & dietitian(s) to develop menus and recipes
Planning and organization of all road catering meals served to the traveling party
Supervise and participate in the preparation and cooking of meals that align with KitchFix and Cardinals’ standards:

Specialized meals including dietary restrictions
Organize, coordinate, and prepare food for up to 60-100 people per meal period
Manage and maintain all-access snack, beverage, and recovery stations in the clubhouse
Hire, manage, and train season-based Cardinals-dedicated staff that is capable of handling the workload of an MLB season
Write weekly schedules according to the MLB schedule
Track & manage account budgets
Serve well-rounded menus that feature Latin cuisine regularly
Be responsible for the ordering and receipt of all purchased products
Promote and exemplify a culture that is rooted in positivity
Oversee food safety & handling procedures within the kitchen & dining
Oversee record-keeping system for temperatures
Oversee cleanliness of workstations, storage area, and kitchen
Be an advocate of key nutrition messages, serving as an extension to execute the nutrition principles of the performance team
Support nutrition interventions for medical need players
Ensure products are in stock for all refrigerators, freezers and pantries
Ensure proper ingredient allergen labeling
Keep up to date with current food trends, new products and emerging cuisines
Develop and maintain a positive rapport with the players, coaches, and staff
Aid in any catering that arises for the Cardinals or other opportunities at the ballpark
Participate in off-season activities on an as needed basis
5+ years as an executive chef with food preparation, food safety, and customer service experience
Degree in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Science, or a related field preferred
Experience in client-facing role—demonstrated success with building and maintaining relationships with clients
Demonstrated success leading and managing teams
ServSafe food manager certification and allergen certification
1+ year of sports-based culinary nutrition experience with collegiate and/or professional athletes preferred
Experience coordinating catering with local restaurants
A working knowledge of baseball preferred
Excellent knowledge of kitchen equipment and good knife skills
Experience writing client-specific menus
Strong creativity, desire to learn, and interest in building healthy meals with lots of flavor
Ability to develop, document, and follow recipes
A working knowledge of culinary nutrition, and can adjust recipes and menus to fit an athlete’s nutritional needs
Experience ordering and receiving food from local vendors
Confidence in working with clients who have food sensitivities and allergies
Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Drive, Documents, Calendar)
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to speak Spanish a plus
Ability to work non-standard and variable work week that closely aligns with St. Louis Cardinals’ home game schedule
Annual salary, starting at $80,000/year, based on experience
Bonus potential: up to 5% of annual salary based on hitting financial targets
