Please note: This job posting is in addition to the listing shared a couple of weeks ago. We are currently hiring for two full-time dietitian positions.

This particular role requires fluency in Spanish and will be based out of our Jupiter location.

Position Summary

As a Minor League Performance Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing nutrition support to players across the Miami Marlins’ minor league affiliates. This role involves implementing evidence-based nutrition strategies to optimize performance, recovery, and overall health. You will work closely with players, coaches, and support staff to ensure nutritional needs are met. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and an evidence-based approach to performance nutrition are essential for success in this position. The ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions will be key to success.

 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for minor league players.
  • Educate players and coaching staff on proper nutrition strategies for performance, recovery, and overall health.
  • Conduct body composition assessments and monitor hydration status.
  • Provide guidance on pre-game, post-game, and travel nutrition strategies.
  • Coordinate meal planning and supplementation recommendations in collaboration with team chefs and performance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with MLB nutrition guidelines and team policies.
  • Track and assess players’ nutritional intake and progress throughout the season.
  • Collaborate with strength and conditioning, medical, and performance staff to integrate nutrition into the overall player development program.
  • Stay up to date with the latest sports nutrition research and apply evidence-based practices.
  • Perform sweat sodium testing using a variety of different methods
  • Perform body composition testing on athletes periodically throughout the year

Skill Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of sports nutrition principles and evidence-based dietary strategies.
  • Ability to assess and address individual nutrition needs for athletes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively educate and collaborate with athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing nutrition data.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education & Experience Guidelines

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Science, or a related field required.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required. RD Eligible could be considered.
  • CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in sports nutrition, preferably in professional or collegiate sports.
  • Experience working with baseball athletes is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Ability to travel frequently between minor league affiliates.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and conduct hands-on nutrition activities.
